Update on Matthew

This post is the start of why I got so far behind. I was waiting to get a recording of Matthew rolling over. To this day I still wouldn't be able to get it. The only time he rolls over on his own accord with no help is when he is on his back and he wants to go to sleep. Then I just got behind and overwhelmed. Then I just got tired and didn't want to do anything but sleep. So, I am finally ready to get caught up.


Today Matthew rolled from his back to his tummy all by himself! Even though he got his arm stuck underneath him. I don't think he will roll often, but I know with time it will become more frequent. I am just so happy with the progress that he has made. He is getting so much stronger especially in his trunk. He doesn't like to lay down anymore, and when you do lay him propped on a pillow, he tries to sit up. We still have a long road ahead of us but he is doing so well and I am so proud of him.

Also, before Christmas we got a call from the Geneticist saying that they got the results from his microarray analysis. He has a loss in the long arm of his 7th chromosome. What that means she didn't say. I believe she said it was rare, and would try to find info on it. Also, it looks like it gets better with time. So, Brendon and I got a microarray analysis to see if it was inherited from our genes. We are still waiting on those results. I believe after that we will meet with the Geneticist and find out more information. I think that is about all for now. He is doing well, and I love him so much! Update: We got tested and Brendon and I don't have a loss in our 7th chormosome. With that said that might be the explanation for Matthew's condition, but there is no information out there, or other cases to base it on, so the Geneticist can't be 100% sure that a loss in the 7th chromosome causes hypotonia. The next step is a muscle biopsy, which we are in the works of getting done.


This is from today. I was trying to hurry and get dinner put together before I gave Matthew his bottle, and he totally fell asleep in his high chair, so precious!

Oh Where Oh Where Have I Been?

Wow, does time really fly when you are busy and tired. Yes, I am still alive! Sorry to all those who live away from us and check this to see what is going on. I have come to realize that starting in October until sometime after the beginning of the year I am extremely busy. I start with Sawyer and Matthew's birthday, then our anniversary, Thanksgiving, Abby's birthday, and then it's Christmas time. Not to mention the end of the year for primary is crazy. So, that is where I have been. Then it was so overwhelming I just didn't want to blog. You know when you have so much to do you kind of don't want to do it. I am so far behind and don't have a lot of time to catch up on what went on. I need to because first and foremost this is my journal and I want to have record of what we have done. So, this weekend we are in Eagar and I decided that this would be a great time.

I might as well blog about Eagar so I will be caught up once I blog about the past few months. We were going to come up Thursday but Sawyer had her field trip and Valentine's party at school on Friday so we had to wait until Friday. It was Brendon's birthday, he is the big 30! We got here late evening on Friday. Saturday we woke up and ate breakfast, and we lounged around. Later we went sledding and played in the snow. We had a fun time. Abby loved sledding until she went down with her dad and she got covered in snow because he let his feet drag on the ground. I went down with him and I understand why she was done after that, not fun. Then we came home and took naps and then went to the candy store. We also celebrated Brendon's birthday because we were driving on Friday. We went to church on Sunday and we will just relax on Monday before we have to go home.

There are a lot of pictures but it's only because I wanted to prove how fun it was to go down with Brendon. All of us got sprayed, even Sawyer who was behind him. :)

Right when we got there Abby couldn't wait to go down. She saw what everyone else was doing and was on her way. She went to fast that by the end she was backwards and laying down. Sawyer and I went down together for our first time that day.

When I got down the hill Abby's face and hair were soaking wet. Poor girl!

I went down on the disk. Man those things are fast. I was trying to get on it and it started going down before I was ready. I ended up going down backwards between the paths, so it was a bumpy ride.

I made Abby go again on the back so she could see it is better on the back, you don't get sprayed with snow.

I guess she still had fun though.

After we were done sledding we started making a snowman.

Here is our finished product. Where we made it there were no trees, so this is all we had some orange peels and a stick. I know a sad little snowman.

Abby and Sawyer then began demolishing it. Stomping on it, sitting on it, and then picking up the head and body and eating it. It was pretty funny! The last run of the day Brendon and I went down and that is where I realized why he wasn't so fun to go down with, again the progression.

What a fun time we had!

Brendon's Birthday Part II

Well, like I said we came up to Eagar for Brendon's birthday. Saturday after a fun filled day we finally sang happy birthday to Brendon. Happy 30th, I love you!

I tried getting him blowing out his candles but my camera was having issues. Look at Abby clapping and saying yeah! I love my family.

Sawyer's Field Trip

Sawyer was supposed to go on her field trip back in January, but it was postponed because of rain. We finally got to go on Friday the 12th. This was the main reason we had to wait to go to Eagar. Since Brendon had the day off, I was finally able to go on a field trip with Sawyer. She wanted me to ride the bus with her and so I did. This is her and Jaelyn on the bus waiting to go to the farm.

When we got to the farm there was a baby calf that had just been born. It was really neat to see.
This area is where you can help feed the animals. They are learning the names and a little bit about the animals here.

Next they got to pet and hold chickens. The lady said Sawyer looked like she knew what she was doing and if she'd held a chicken before. My lover of animals has held a chicken before?

Going to the Zoo

On Monday the 8th Jamie Jones asked us if we wanted to go to the zoo. We had a great time. Abby kept saying lets go look at more animals. She didn't really care what we saw she just wanted to see more. They have a new exhibit with the Comodo Dragon. The girls got on the dragon and so we took a picture. I figure I had enough zoo pictures so this is the only one we got. Thanks Jamie!

Brendon's Birthday Part I

On February 5th I threw a surprise party for Brendon. Since he was turning 30 I felt like I needed to do something. It worked out perfectly, he had no idea. The fact that it was a week early helped, and I told him we were going to a party at Vanessa's. She has gatherings frequently and so it wasn't anything unusual. It was a perfect excuse for why there were people and cars there. A lot less stress, which right now is what I need, because I already have plenty of that in my life. Thank you to all my friends who helped bring stuff and came to help celebrate and a big thank you to Vanessa for providing her home for the party. I am just sad because of the few friends that Brendon has none of them came except for a couple from our ward. Luckily he is friends with my friends and their husbands. I had a good time and I hope Brendon did as well. I made sure all his favorites were there, gummy bears, dots, doritos, grasshopper cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, raisinets, snickers, and, sourpatch kids. Unfortunately I have no pictures, I slacked off on that one, oh well. Maybe someone else did, maybe I can round some up.
