Sawyer's Last Day of School

May 27, 2010

Sawyer's last day of school. I went down for a little bit to help with the kids, and to take pictures. I was able to watch Sawyer play a few of the outside games.
Here she is getting ready for the water balloon toss.

Here she is in action tossing the balloon back and forth with her partner.
Sawyer and her teacher Mrs. Castillo. Sawyer loved her and will miss her dearly. I had the opportunity to help out in the classroom each Friday. I got to know Mrs. Castillo and she was a great teacher, I am glad Sawyer had her.

A Day at the Zoo

May 24, 2010
We went to the zoo with a few friends from my ward and their children. It was fun and was only in the upper 80's!

Here is a close up of Abby and Lucy checking them out.

Sunbathing, aah!

Yeah for Matthew!

Matthew can finally hold his own sippy cup and feed himself. This is one of the goals that I had for him. I really needed him to do this because instead of sitting there for 20 minutes feeding him his bottle, and then feeding him his solids for another 20 minutes I can do other stuff while he feeds himself. Or instead of him crying while I get the girls to bed he can feed himself while I do that. It has been wonderful! He did this about the middle of May.

It Finally Happened!

Abby got a hold of a pair of scissors and she cut her hair short. I had been asking her if she wanted it short, so I guess that's what I get. I thought I was lucky because Sawyer never did it, and I thought maybe Abby was old enough to know better, hopefully now she does. So, I finally had one of my girl's cut their own hair.
Luckily, she had her hair up so it ended up being underneath a chunk of her hair, not as bad as it could have been.
Here is a piece of what she cut off.
At first I didn't get how she had so much missing from her head but I didn't find that much, then I started cleaning up and found the chunk that solved the mystery.
Thank you to Vanessa for fitting us in so quickly. Her hair before.
Abby afterwards with her cute short hair. It is actually longer than I was planning on cutting it, Brendon had to take her because I had to work.

Sawyer's Spring Sing

April 26, 2010

I am on a roll this year. So we get to Sawyer's spring concert and I realize that I left my camera at home. We thought oh, Grandpa Evans is coming and he always has his camera with him. Guess what, he didn't bring his camera either. What awesome parents Sawyer has. It was a good concert and I have nothing to show for it. Oh well, lack of pictures I guess that is the theme this year. When we got home I took some pictures of Sawyer to somewhat document the evening. Afterwards we went back to our house for dessert.

For her Winter concert she got her hair cut right before it and so Vanessa styled it. She said she looked better than when I did her hair. So this year I back-combed her hair and straightened it and put a flower in it. She liked it and said I did a good job.
We got a new fan and we finally broke it out and set it up. Abby fit perfectly in the box.

Of course Sawyer had to try as well. She didn't fit as well, she was a little tall.

Orbital's Annual Family Picnic

Mid-April of this year we had Brendon's company picnic. It is a fun day filled with bouncy toys, face painting, balloon making, and food. It is Abby's dreamland, she loves bouncy toys and all you can drink juice.
Abby waiting in line for the big blow-up slide.
Wwweeeee!
Abby bouncing away in the big jumper!
Sawyer showing off her face painting, that she wanted on her arm.
This is a co-worker of Brendon's and his wife.
Hanging out with Marcus and his family.
Matthew hanging out in his stroller, he just woke up.
Abby getting ready to climb the rock wall.
I'm guessing she is walking to the wall here, but the way her body got captured in this photo was so funny, so I had to put it in.
Look at Abby go.
Abby with her flower balloon, I think she's wearing down. She got a flower on her arm as well, for her face painting. I didn't get many pictures of Sawyer because she was off running around with Ruth and we couldn't keep up with her. We could barely keep up with Abby but we make a special effort with her.

Easter Fun!

Easter fell on Conference Sunday this year, so we woke up and found Easter eggs, looked at our baskets, and then watched Conference. Apparently we just videotaped the hunt, and the table with our stuff on it because I have no pictures of it. Oh well! Afterwards, we went to Grandma Evans' for brunch and then watched the 2nd session of Conference. Then we dyed Easter eggs. Later that evening the children had their Easter egg hunt at Grandma's.
Matthew's eating so he can go on the Easter egg hunt.
Abby searching for eggs.
Sawyer with her stash of eggs.
Even Matty got to participate and get an egg, with dad's help of course.
Also, I guess I didn't get any pictures of dying Easter eggs, or of our annual Easter egg bash. I didn't do too well this year! Maybe I'll have to look at my parents pictures and steal some, we'll see if I get there. I'm not gonna hold my breath so you better not either!

St. Patrick's Day

On St. Patrick's Day we drove up to Eager to visit Grandma Neus. This was the bunch before we left, decked out in their green attire.
This was the bunch before we left, decked out in their green attire. Thanks to Grandma Evans for the bows and Matty's shorts.
What a good lookin' group!
Since we were getting ready to leave I didn't do a St. Patrick's Day breakfast like I would have liked to, so we did breakfast for dinner.
Here is the spread, green pancakes, green eggs, and bacon.
For dessert we had green rice krispie treats.
Yum!
Abby contemplating her yummy dessert.

Sawyer's Track and Field Day

March 11, 2010

Sawyer had her annual track and field day at her school. I was a little late so, I missed some of the events.

This is the obstacle course. I made it just in time to watch Sawyer.
This is the "shoe" put. They put a shoe on their feet and launch it as far as they can.
Sawyer doing the long jump.
Sawyer taking a break and a picture with her friend Maddi.
The best part of track and field day, the popsicles at the end. What a fun day!

Bye Chad!

This is Chad, Matthew's Occupational Therapist. At the beginning of March was our last visit with Chad. I was sad to stop seeing Chad because Matthew had seen him since he was 2 months old. I am so happy because we finally got approval to have OT at home, yea no more driving. So, here Matthew is with Chad working out for the last time.

EMECEC Olympics

February 25, 2010

At Abby's school they had the olympics and the children got to do different events. Of course it's been awhile so hopefully I remember the events I got pictures of. I got there late so I didn't see here do everything.

Here is Abby doing the ribbon twirl, or something to that effect.
I do have to say I thought she did the best out of all the children in her class.
Go Abby, go!
Here is Abby doing the ball kick, she was so possesive of that pink Dora ball. She was being a little punk making sure all the other children stayed away from it. She even took it out of some of their hands.
Here she is doing the potato sack race. They just basically jumped around in a bag.
Here is Abby in action at the potato sack race. She is next to her friend Tessa.

Here is Abby at the closing ceremony where she got a gold medal and got her picture taken on the medal podium with an obnoxiously large torch.

Abby Shopping

At the end of February Sawyer was invited to a birthday party so I took the two girls with me to go pick out a present. Sawyer and I were looking at different things to buy when Abby went down a different isle. I called her and asked her to stay by Sawyer and me. When she came towards us she had picked these up. She was just shopping for what she'd like to buy.
Look at that face!
I looked at the price of the shoes and they were under $5. She got a $5 bill from Grandma Jean for her birthday that she still hadn't spent, so I told her she could get the shoes. This is why I love this girl, she just helps herself to what she wants. Sometimes it's frustrating too.
